Through the window

If I were a doll visiting a friend in a dolls house...(crazy way to start a sentence,  I know:-) but stay with me)...what would I do when I walk up to the door, knock... and there's no answer.  I turn to the side and there is a window and light flooding through ... do I peep in? Or simply turn around and come back later...hmmm
