New project? Or boredom :-)

In my last post, I talked about my search for a new project. One of the mini finds was a plastic fireplace from a broken playmobil toy house.

I decided to convert it to a "stone effect/ brick effect" fireplace for my house  :-)
After cleaning it, I primed the surface with mod podge, then I used a combination of distress ink pads and a permanent ink pad to stain it using a sponge.

Then I distressed it using my finger nails to scratch into it and voila ;-)
Hmmm...just have to find the best place for it :-) it turned out better than I expected!
