Working in different scales

Hi :-) Working in miniature has been something I've done for a long while. I may not always make the time to blog, take pictures, or even record videos about my adventures, however I always want to share them. Over the past two years I've spent more time working in 1:6, 1:4 and 1:3 scale specifically creating dioramas and props for my Ball jointed doll collection. I still work in 1:12 scale:-) .... I sometimes post on flickr and Instagram, but keeping up with all the social media platforms can get tedious at times (for me). So this week I decided to come back to my old favourite. so here I am, once again on blogger. Here's a little bit of what I've been up to Below is a picture of a 1:6 scale cottage I scratch built, using wood, foam board, PVC board and various other bits and pieces. New Year! New Ideas! :-)

I have always dreamed of having a modern kitchen or making one, but due to my limited DIY skills I never tried :( A couple of days ago I decided to give it another go as I really like my Miele appliances but I never seem to find any kitchen units that are similar in height to them. I bought 2 sheets of 5mm black acrylic/acetate, and set about asking hubby to cut an L-shape for a counter top/work surface. I had grand ideas about making individual opening doors for each unit, well this is the finished product :-) what do you think? The appliances are Miele's mini world , accessories are re-ment , the vases are beads :-) (did you spot that there is no sink ;-) ..) still trying to figure out how to make one haha! This has been a lovely year, I got to know so much about miniatures, become addicted to re- ment and tried my hands at DIY . I also got to know a whole new world of miniatures and so many lovely people with a shared interest! its been lovely! Happy New year! and Thank you x...

Beautiful structure!

Summer holidays! I took the children to the V&A - Museum of childhood! as they looked at the different games and toys I was itching to drag them to the home section which houses the musuems doll house collection, I had been there once with a friend, and enjoyed it, especially seeing how the dolls houses were designed and built to reflect the life, and the people at that time. I got to see a triang house which I liked, because of its windows and cubic design. This time I wanted to see a specific house the kaleidoscope house!, as I had been doing some research on it. I tried not to rush the children as they were having so much fun. when we climbed the stairs to the home section, there was a small "Roald Dahl" exhibition which I made sure they enjoyed at "flying speed" lol! and then in awe as we turned a corner, I spotted this awesome house The plaque read "Shroeder house..."? I didn't have my camera just my phone so I took the pictures below! I love ...
